This workshop was the best way of understanding what data means and what we, young designers, can do with it. Data is information; Data is images, sounds, colors, shapes, patterns and so on.. Data means everything that can (or not) be interpreted.

Information can be remixed.

Our group in this workshop filtered the information and limited it to shows, TFL symbols, buses and bicycles. Colors had a meaning and repetition was our way of giving the meaning of quantity.
:: from ilustration to design // personal exercise
1; an ilustration
2; a square
3; a cut // an edition
4; a remix // an outcome
A simple experiment that illustrates the remix of an image with a shape and with colors, that put together can lead to a complete different outcome than the origin.

Modification and remixing is applied to design an outcome that ends up having nothing to do with its origin but still being linked my the only relation of origin - process - final outcome.

A bigger and wider range is yet to be explored by using data remix.
Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research questions, test hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes. Learning to collect the variety and kinds of information sources that are in the immediate environment, and being able to analyze, categorize, and interpret the information collected.
